This is going to cause problems! Two children and a teenager are said to have stolen cars in Kufstein, Tyrol, on Friday evening and took them for a ride. During a chase or manhunt, two 13-year-old suspects were quickly found. A third alleged perpetrator (14) has also been unmasked. More than ten police patrols were deployed.
In the middle of the night, around 2 a.m., a witness saw three strangers hanging out at a workshop in Kufstein with parked cars. Then they would have taken the car in the direction of Eibergbundesstraße to flee. After the alarm was raised by the police, a large-scale manhunt was immediately launched.
Stop on dirt road then escape on foot
“During the operation, a patrol quickly noticed a car with a distinctive driving style. After a short chase, the driver stopped on a dirt road and then fled on foot,” the researchers said. Also explosive: The vehicle had license plates mounted on it, which the alleged perpetrators had apparently previously stolen from another car nearby.
About an hour later, two other cars were targeted by police in the city area, which were apparently driven by young people. A car was immediately stopped. “The driver turned out to be a 13-year-old Austrian. He was alone in the car. The vehicle has been stolen. The suspect was taken to the Kufstein police station,” investigators said.
The search for the two fugitives continued. Moments later, another stolen car was spotted. However, the driver was no longer there. Shortly afterwards, however, this could be investigated. This suspect is also only 13 years old – and therefore still a child. During an initial investigation, the two 13-year-olds confessed.
13 patrols involved in manhunt
Finally, the third member of the group could also be identified. He is said to be a 14-year-old resident who left the stolen car on the dirt road. A total of 13 police patrols were involved in the search. The cars were secured and returned to the workshop.
