Serious setbacks – Russians are losing more and more annexed territories

Date:

Just days after the celebratory annexation of four regions in Ukraine, in violation of international law, Russia had to deal a serious blow: Ukraine was advancing at lightning speed – and none of the four “new Russian territories” were fully under Russian control. was standing.

After another surprising advance of Ukraine around Kherson in the south of the country, Moscow is faced with an absurd situation: the hostile annexation of Ukraine’s Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions was solemnly announced over the weekend. But none of the four oblasts are completely controlled by the Russians anymore.

Successes for Ukraine in all four regions
In Luhansky Ukrainian troops rushed through Kharkov and Izyum, on the western border of Donetsk the Russians had to give up territories. In the north Saporischschjas large parts of the oblast are firmly in Ukrainian hands, and in Kherson Home troops are moving closer and closer to the capital of the same name along the Dnieper.

It was not until Monday that Moscow had to admit that it was not yet certain where the borders in the annexed areas should be drawn. This should be done “in consultation with those responsible on the ground,” it said – at a time when Ukrainian troops were already advancing into these areas.

“Superior Armored Units”
Especially in the south, the Russian army openly admits many setbacks: Ukraine advanced “with superior armored units” and broke through numerous positions. The spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, however, put it into perspective: Russian troops had only “withdrawn to prepared positions”.
