Hour-long alarm – Kamikaze drone attack on city near Kiev

Date:

According to Ukrainian information, the Russian army attacked targets with kamikaze drones for the first time on Wednesday. In the small town of Bila Tserkva near Kiev, one person was injured and infrastructure was damaged. “There were six strikes and explosions,” Governor Oleksiy Kuleba said, according to which there had been an air raid siren for three hours on Wednesday night.

According to the Air Force, a total of 12 Iranian drones flew towards targets from the south. Iran had officially refused a delivery. “Six of them were shot down, three with anti-aircraft missiles in the south and three were also shot down by the air force,” said Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat.

Dense Ukrainian air defenses around Kiev
The closest Russian positions are about 380 kilometers south of Bila Tserkva. Belarus, which is connected to Russia, is about 180 kilometers away from the town and the Russian border about 280 kilometers away. The air defenses around the Ukrainian capital Kiev are considered the densest. The Russian army has been deploying Iranian combat drones for several weeks. Kiev has called the delivery an “unfriendly act” and expelled the Iranian envoy and reduced staff at the Iranian embassy.

Zelenskyi reports liberation of dozens of villages
In his daily speech on Tuesday evening, President Volodymir Zelenskyi reported on the liberation of dozens of cities in the Kherson, Kharkov, Luhansk and Donetsk regions from Russian occupation. “In some parts of the front line, it was possible to extend the area we occupied by 10 to 20 kilometers,” the Southern Operations Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) said on Wednesday. Meanwhile, retreating Russian troops destroyed their ammunition reserves and tried to stop the advance of Ukrainian troops by destroying bridges and crossings.

Russian soldiers dug houses before they left
In Kherson, retreating Russian troops had placed mines in infrastructure and homes, it was said. According to the RIA news agency, a counterattack is being prepared in the Kherson region. Russian troops would regroup “to rally their troops and launch a retaliatory attack,” Russian representative Kirill quoted Stremusov as saying on Wednesday.

Putin’s army in distress on various front sectors
The advance of the Ukrainian troops, which are increasingly equipped with Western equipment, causes problems for the Russian units on several front sections. Russia recently withdrew troops to avoid encirclement. According to the British secret service, the supply of the Russian troops is also hampered by the advancing counteroffensive.

Apparently Ukrainian units are Oskil . crossed
Ukrainian units in the northeast region of Kharkov have penetrated the Russian defense area up to 20 kilometers behind the Oskil River, it said. The troops thus approached a supply hub in the town of Swatowe. Ukraine could now presumably attack a major road in the region with its weapons systems, further limiting the Russians’ ability to supply supplies to their troops in the east.

According to intelligence, Ukraine’s advance on the borders of the Luhansk region would worry Russian leaders after it annexed the region last week.
