Fatal chain reaction on the highway near Biberwier (Tirol): A motorist had to brake suddenly because of a squirrel. Unfortunately, a next local motorcyclist (57) saw this too late…
On Wednesday around 11 a.m., the 38-year-old German drove his car in the municipality of Biberwier on the federal road from Ehrwald in the direction of Fernpass. When, according to him, a squirrel suddenly jumped across the road in front of the car, he put in an emergency stop. A 57-year-old local motorcyclist following the car noticed the emergency braking too late and collided with the stationary car.
Heavy impact
The motorcyclist was seriously injured by the impact and was taken by ambulance to the Reutte district hospital after first aid. The driver of the car and his father, who was in the passenger seat, were not injured. While the engine was being recovered, the highway had to be closed to all traffic for ten minutes.
