The boy had climbed onto the roof of the train at Praterstern around 1.30 am and then rode with the train, according to police. “At Traisengasse station, the man apparently came into contact with the overhead wires and fell from the train onto the track,” police spokeswoman Barbara Gass said on Saturday.
Witnesses saw what happened and reacted immediately. They helped the 20-year-old off the tracks and alerted the rescue team. Emergency services of the professional rescue service delivered the young man. He was said to respond. He was taken to hospital after first aid.
