Movements of pensioners from different Autonomous Communities demonstrated in Madrid today to demand the revaluation of pensions related to the increase in the annual accrued CPI and a minimum pension of 60% of the average salary.

One of several calling platforms is the Euskal Herria platform for retirees, which has brought more than 500 people to the protest.

This is the first step in a general mobilization that the organizers plan to carry out in November in the cities and communities to continue to defend their demands.

In addition to demanding the revaluation of pensions from the CPI, they are asking for an audit of social security accounts and showing their “rejection of the privatization of the public pension system (SPP)”.

They also recall that pensions lost 3% in purchasing power in 2021 and salaries and pensions lost more than six points in purchasing power over the course of 2022.
