The incident, which was filmed by other protesters and shared on social media, sparked outrage. Police initially tried to portray the video as being manipulated by opponents of the regime, but were eventually forced to admit the incident. The case is now under investigation, according to reports from Saturday.
The attack is said to have taken place this week in the north of the capital Tehran. The video shows that the police want to arrest a protester. However, she resisted vehemently. One of the police officers then grabbed the woman’s buttocks.
