A Styrian marker fell a few meters from a steep slope on Friday evening into the bed of the Thörlbach in Kapfenberg. Thanks to the courageous rescue operation of the emergency services, the injured man was saved.
Around 9 p.m., the alarmed emergency services found the injured man on the edge of the stream bed, where he screamed for help.
Two divers immediately descended into the creek bed to begin the salvage operation. On the other side, a comrade from the Kapfenberg city fire brigade and a Red Cross helper abseil to the scene of the accident.
Rescued with a stretcher
Joining forces, the man was placed in a basket rescue stretcher and lifted onto the bridge with a crane winch, where the emergency doctor provided further care. The Styrian was eventually taken to the LKH Hochsteiermark with injuries of unknown degree.
