A fatal traffic accident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning in the municipality of St. Georgen near Obernberg (Upper Austria). A cyclist was so badly injured in a collision with a truck that she died on the spot.
At around 6 a.m., a 59-year-old Croat from Vienna drove his semi-trailer on Wippenhamer Landesstraße towards Gurten. A 50-year-old cyclist from the Ried district was riding in the same direction.
Near Dietraching, the truck driver hit the woman with the right-hand front of the vehicle. She was thrown into an adjacent field by the force of the impact and died from her injuries at the accident site.
