85 PCR tests in a row – a Turkish man with cancer was corona positive for 16 months!

Date:

A Turkish man suffering from cancer has set a remarkable and sad record. Muzaffer Kayasan, 56, was corona positive for no less than 16 months. PCR tests for Covid-19 were positive 85 times in a row, only recently the man with leukemia finally got a negative test result and was able to end his quarantine.

In November 2020, Kayasan tested positive for Corona for the first time. The man spent 470 days in hospital or – along with his wife and son – in quarantine at his home in Istanbul’s Sariyer district. The video (see above) was also shot there. The 56-year-old leukemia patient has the longest known Covid infection in Turkey, doctors say.

When his first corona tests were positive, Kayasan feared he would die. His immune system was already under attack from the leukemia. In addition, due to the constant contamination, he was unable to receive a vaccination against Covid-19 according to the Turkish vaccination regulations.

It is questionable whether such a treatment would have helped the 56-year-old at all, because according to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a quarter of leukemia patients do not make antibodies against the virus even after two doses of corona. vaccination.

“My granddaughter Defne is ten months old and this is the second time I’ve hugged her,” Kasayan said as he greeted his grandchildren. “I can describe the feeling (overcoming Covid-19) as relaxing on an airplane after severe turbulence. That’s how I feel now. Relax. You feel so close to God and then you feel alive,” the 56-year-old described his feelings on Friday after the 86th PCR test came out negative a few days earlier.
