Transport and logistics companies in Ukraine and Poland have become the target of another attack involving encryption software (ransomware). Earlier this week, a previously unknown malware was spread in a series of attacks, according to software company Microsoft.
The security experts made no assumptions about the origin of the attack, but pointed out that the targets were the same as those of previous Russian cyber attacks.
In so-called ransomware attacks, computers are encrypted by the malware and thus rendered unusable. According to IT security experts, Ukraine had already been the target of several cyber attacks by hackers linked to Russian secret services.
