A police patrol in Bad Goisern was stopped near the Katrin cable car by a hiker at around 5:45 PM because an elderly man needed help on the hiking trail towards Katrin. The officers went to the 73-year-old hiker from Eben in the Freistadt district.

At the end of his strength
The man descended and was at the end of his strength. He stated that he had fallen several times and that he would not make it to the valley again. Together with other hikers who happened to pass by, the injured person was carried the last few meters to the valley station.
