Difficult hostage takings, arrests of war criminals, evacuations of threatened civilians, reconnaissance missions in crisis situations and more often push the elite unit to the edge of its capabilities. A survival trainer gives important tips, anonymously for safety reasons: “First of all, we must assume that each of us will eventually end up in a crisis situation. It is important that you adapt to it and believe in yourself and your own abilities. In general, the following applies to our training: You can go 30 days without food, three days without water and only three minutes without a plan. Good preparation is of course the most important thing, but the right response in an emergency is also important,” says the elite soldier.

10 seconds make the difference between victory and defeat
In general, the pros advise that in addition to securing your own four walls, you should also be prepared for emergencies when you’re out and about. Simple items such as energy bars, bandages and disinfectants or a rescue blanket, power bank and cash fit in almost every backpack and also make private individuals “always ready”: “In an emergency, the first steps should serve as orientation.
