Four Russians have been arrested again in Norway for taking unauthorized photos of various objects. The four, three men and a woman were arrested in northern Norway last Thursday, police said Monday. They drove a car with Russian license plates.
A lot of photo material has been seized from them, police officer Gaute Rydmark told TV2. However, the four Russians denied doing anything illegal and instead pretended to be regular tourists. According to the Norwegian police, they entered Norway via Finland in late September or early October.
Photographed with drone military helicopter
Last week in Norway, two Russians were arrested in several incidents who had used drones and sometimes took pictures of the Norwegian army’s Bell helicopters.
Fear of sabotage grows
In Norway, drones have been repeatedly sighted on energy infrastructure systems, including offshore oil and gas platforms. These incidents and the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea have prompted the country to increase security. Norway has overtaken Russia as Western Europe’s largest gas supplier since energy imports from Russia were cut in the wake of Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine.
