The dismembered bodies of four men who have been missing for about a week in the US state of Oklahoma have now been found in a river. The police chief spoke of an extremely brutal approach to the perpetrators. The victims are said to have left on wheels to commit a crime before being murdered.
According to investigators, the victims were between 29 and 32 years old. They were last seen leaving a house in Okmulgee township. The quartet had traveled by bicycle.
Police chief says the robbery would be “worth it for everyone”
But it’s said it wasn’t an ordinary trip — they apparently wanted to pull off a robbery “that would have been worth it for any of them,” as Police Chief Joe Prentice explained. Neither the murder weapon nor the wheels of the deceased have been found.
Path leads to junkyard
A lead from investigators leads to a junkyard owner with whom one of the victims made his last phone call. The police had interrogated the man a few days ago. Traces of “violent acts” were discovered on his property. So far, however, the man has not been classified as a suspect, but classified as a “person of interest”. After the junkyard owner initially cooperated, he has now disappeared – he is considered suicidal, according to police.
“I have investigated more than 80 murders in my career. I’ve worked on multiple victim homicides. I had to deal with mutilations. But this case is the one with the most casualties and it’s very violent,” Prentice said at a news conference.
