Incredible scenes at the border crossing in Suben (Upper Austria): A police patrol had stopped a truck. When the officers got out, the truck driver suddenly accelerated, rammed into the police car and fled.
Monday around 10:15 p.m. on the A8 in the area of the Suben border crossing, a patrol of the highway police Ried wanted to subject the driver of a Turkish articulated vehicle to a driver and vehicle check. However, he continued his journey to Germany.
Truck forced to stop
The officers followed him, sat in front of him in the company car and were eventually able to stop him on the left lane of the Inn Bridge just before the state border. One of the two police officers got out of the service vehicle and went to the back of the truck.

However, the truck driver accelerated at this point and hit the back of the police vehicle. The policeman had to jump sideways to get to safety. The truck driver then drove between the central guardrail and the service vehicle, which was almost perpendicular to the roadway, and continued on across the state line towards Passau.
Escape to Germany
The second police officer had also already got out and was fortunately no longer in the vehicle when the collision took place. Despite an immediate search by the Bavarian police through the state control center, the driver of the articulated truck was able to escape to Germany undetected.
