A day earlier than expected, the refugee tents in St. Georgen im Attergau (Upper Austria) were moved a little further from the neighboring houses. Workers removed the mobile shelters and rebuilt them.
On Wednesday morning at the Thalham shelter in St. Georgen/A. a group of workers arrived. He then began – as the mayor and residents had been begging for days – to dismantle and relocate all 15 refugee tents placed directly on the plot boundary.
As reported, last Saturday the Ministry of the Interior had mobile accommodation built for 100 male asylum seekers just two meters from a settlement. “A provocation”, according to both the residents and the local manager, who feared the increased noise level.
Neighbors breathe a sigh of relief
Neighbor Herma Pesl sees the fact that the tents are further away in principle positively: “But the problem that there are now 100 extra men, unfortunately, remains.” She hopes the Interior Ministry will admit and the additional refugees in other communities and in permanent accommodation: “The whole thing is unworthy.”
