The 51st edition of the Cartagena International Film Festival this year received more than 650 works to compete in the two competition sections. Finally, the festival selected ten short films for the Official Section (national and international shorts) and thirteen for Murcine (short films by filmmakers from the Murcia region). They will all be screened during the week of the festival, which will take place from November 20 to 26, 2022 in Cartagena.
The short films in the official section will compete for the ‘Carabela de Plata Ciudad de Cartagena’ prize for best short film, endowed with 3,000 euros, and prizes will also be awarded for best direction, photography, screenplay and interpretation.
On the other hand, in the Murcine section, the first prize ‘Carabela de Plata Ciudad de Cartagena’ is endowed with 1,500 euros, while the second, the ‘Submarino Peral’, is endowed with 500 euros. In addition, in both categories the New Filmmakers Platform Award (PNR) is awarded to the Best Short Film, which consists of a free registration for one year as a member of the PNR.
The award ceremony will take place on November 26, during the FICC51 closing ceremony.
