The series of armed robberies in Salzburg never ends. At around 2:40 p.m., an unknown perpetrator entered the Hypo branch on Salzburg’s Residenzplatz and demanded money.
Police say the robber was armed with a handgun. The man is described as being about six feet tall. He was even dressed in a light-colored top and white-orange cap, wore a black FFP2 mask and spoke Austrian dialect. The assailant is currently on the run with the loot.
It is currently unclear how much money could be stolen from the bank branch. A large-scale alarm search is currently underway in the Salzburg city area. A helicopter is also used.
The crisis intervention team of the Red Cross was alerted about the psychosocial care of the witnesses of the crime.
