The ministries registered 4517 new infections within 24 hours on Saturday (from 3.30 pm). Most recently, there were fewer new infections to report on September 18 (3699). Another nine people died in the 24-hour comparison period.
The occupation of the corona wards is also decreasing in hospitals: a total of 2214 people are currently being treated in normal wards (34 less than the day before). Seven places were available in the intensive care unit and 125 patients are currently being cared for there.
Correction for death rates
The death toll has been revised down from Friday’s report (data cleanup). Accordingly, the AGES figures published on Saturday showed 20,891 people who died from or with Covid-19, which was 89 fewer than Friday’s figures (20,980).
