Mountain rescue action – alpinist slipped, hiker passed out

Date:

The Tyrolean mountain rescuers were not only called up on Sunday because of injured motorcyclists. They also had to move because of two alpinists. A woman slipped on the Nordkette and injured herself. During a tour in Weißenbach am Lech, a German lost consciousness after passing out.

The first accident happened around 1.30pm. A local (30) only wanted to do a round on the Innsbruck via ferrata on the Nordkette. The woman started at the Hafelekar and went west through the practice via ferrata. Then she walked along a marked path to the entrance of the via ferrata below the Seegrubenspitze. However, due to time constraints, she canceled the tour. “The mountaineer found climbing tracks in a steep gully, which she thought was a possible exit,” police said.

After a short descent, the 30-year-old slipped and suffered minor injuries to her right forearm and right thigh. No longer trusting herself to continue the descent, she made a distress call. The emergency doctor helicopter “C1” rescued the woman from the gutter with a rope and flew her to the Seegrube mountain station. From there, after receiving first aid from the emergency doctor, she was able to drive to the valley under her own power.

had a weakness attack
The second accident happened at 3:45 p.m. A German (29) climbed the Fuchskarspitze in Weißenbach am Lech with a friend. After the ascent, they climbed further up the ridge in the direction of the Kesselspitze. Suddenly “the man became dizzy and lost consciousness.” His companion set the rescue chain in motion. The 29-year-old was rescued with the emergency doctor helicopter “RK2” and flown to the hospital in Reutte.
