A moped tour, which was not authorized for traffic, cost two boys their lives late on Sunday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands. A 17-year-old resident missed a boulder in a meadow and crashed into it. The driver and his companion (16) fell on the passenger and suffered serious injuries.
According to the police, the fatal accident happened around 10.30 pm in Radfeld (Kufstein district). After the duo first drove the unregistered moped on a service road along the B171 Tiroler Straße, the driver drove over a meadow in the vicinity of the so-called Auflegerkapelle to arrive at a parking lot.
Missing boulders in the dark
And then it happened. Due to the darkness, the 17-year-old may have overlooked a boulder that lies at the end of the pasture section. As a result of the collision, the boys fell from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
Dad took Duo to the rescue base
“The two then independently informed the 17-year-old’s father, who then took them to the rescue base in Kramsach. There, the young people received first aid and were then taken by ambulance to the hospital in Kufstein,” said the police.
The moped was completely demolished. The driver also does not have a driver’s license. Appropriate notifications will be made after completing the surveys.
