Inferno on a highway in the US state of Florida: A tanker caught fire on Tuesday after an accident on I-95 near the small town of Delray Beach. The fire spread along the highway, injuring five people.
For unknown reasons, a vehicle ended up in the path of the tank trailer and collided with it, causing it to overturn. The escaping fuel spread the flames on the roadway. A car collided with a light pole as the driver tried to avoid a collision with the truck.
Dense black smoke over the accident site
Three people were seriously injured, the condition of two others is unclear. Three vehicles were destroyed in the fire. Sections of I-95, over which thick clouds of black smoke rose, had to be closed, resulting in long traffic jams. The investigation into the cause of the accident has started.
