Some people probably couldn’t believe their own eyes: Thursday a bright green liquid flowed into the Pigerbach near Imst in the Tyrolean Oberland and then into the Inn. According to current information, the reason for the discoloration of the water was improper disposal by a company.
Fortunately, the environmental alarm turned out to be more harmless than the optics had initially suggested: “The liquid comes from an incorrect disposal of a commercial building. But it is hazard class 1, ie the lowest,” according to the environmental department of the district council.
Apparently no fish die
In particular, it was a color or natural latex. The fire brigade was unable to intervene, the liquid was quickly used up. Environmental damage must be limited. A possible fish kill is currently not assumed.
The police started an investigation. The company now faces a fine.
