Feyenoord hooligans: – “These kinds of groups do not belong in the stadium!”

Date:

After the scandalous performance of the Feyenoord fans in Graz, the call for consequences is louder. The repair of the stadium becomes a race against time.

A musty aftertaste remains of the black and white football festival. Also in the storm, joy is mixed with a high degree of disbelief at the escalation of violence by the Feyenoord fans. “Such groups of people do not belong in a stadium”, Thomas Tebbich shakes his head. The director of Sturm is now demanding consequences: “And since the club will probably not get this under control alone, there must be very clear sanctions from UEFA. To protect the football product, but especially the fans in the stadiums, against this kind of violence. ”

The Feyenoord hooligans are one of the most notorious groups of all – they have left their mark all over Europe. “Due to the many backgrounds, UEFA has appointed a security guard for the match. He has recorded everything – now the association has to make a decision,” Tebbich continues.

Damage not yet measurable
The big cleanup in the Liebenauer Stadium started on Friday. “The damage is so great that we can’t put a number on it yet,” says sports complex manager Gerald Pototschnig in amazement. Torn radiators and toilets caused water to spill into the gym rented at the stadium and also into the small ice rink. Whether the damage can be repaired before Sturm’s home game against Ried on Sunday seems more than doubtful.

Sturm as organizer must bear the repair costs. However, the residents of Graz will compensate Feyenoord and send the bills to Rotterdam.

Not only the police were surprised that Feyenoord fans could mingle with the storm fans in the stands. The Dutch thanked the ‘friends’ of the GAK for the tickets via Instagram.
