An elderly woman from Bruck an der Leitha (Lower Austria) has been missing since Sunday evening. The search area was extended to Bruckneudorf on Monday.
The elderly lady is demented, but still lives within her own four walls. She walks the same circle every day. But she did not return from her round on Sunday evening, after which relatives raised the alarm.
In the evening the Red Cross was on the road with a sniffer dog brigade. Unfortunately without success.
On Monday morning, the authority asked the fire service to search the area around Leitha. The Bruckneudorf fire brigade, the Burgenland fire brigade divers, the Rust volunteer fire brigade, the Jois fire brigade and the commander of the Neusiedl am See district fire brigade are present. The canal area is searched with two Zilles with modern sonar technology and by the fire divers.
The woman has not yet been found. There are currently 45 comrades deployed.
