After the serious riots on Halloween night in the center of Linz and the renewed riots the following evening, the police investigation is ongoing. Both times, young people set off fireworks and threw them at passers-by. The identities of 129 suspects have now been clarified, the majority of whom are not Austrians, as the state police announced. There was information about nationalities, residence status and age.
Among the 129 suspects were 28 Syrians, 14 Afghans, 4 people each from Kosovo, Bosnia, Serbia, Romania and North Macedonia, 21 people of other nationalities and 46 Austrians.
Six babes
They included six minors, 73 adolescents, 26 young adults and 24 adults. Of this group, six are asylum seekers, 35 are entitled to asylum, 24 have permanent residence status, six are entitled to subsidiary protection, twelve are EU citizens and 46 have Austrian nationality.
