The fire quickly spread over an area of ​​about 3,500 square meters of the Poligon nightclub in the Russian city of Kostroma. According to authorities, the roof of the apartment building collapsed.

250 people brought to safety
At least 13 people were killed and others injured in the fire. Russian state television reported on the spot that 250 people could be taken to safety.

The cause of the fire was unknown at this time. Local media reported that fireworks at the nightclub started the fire. However, there is no official confirmation yet. In Russia, basic safety regulations are regularly not observed. Fires often result in many deaths and injuries.
