A couple from Flachgau couldn’t believe what they saw on Friday afternoon. Burglars fled from their house. The 71-year-old homeowner quickly gave chase on his bicycle.
The couple from Michaelbeuern were in the kitchen when they saw two women and a man running out of their house. It later emerged that the three Romanians had broken into the couple’s unlocked home and stolen jewelery and gold and silver coins from the ground floor bedroom.
The 71-year-old homeowner chased the fleeing perpetrators on his bicycle, but lost sight of them in the city center.
Shortly afterwards, the alerted police were able to arrest the two women (26 and 23 years old) in Berndorfer Landesstraße. The 40-year-old man is still on the run.
