“One bill after another comes along, but I have to run after the climate bonus”, Juliane Rehnelt from Wilhering feels “mocking”. The native German, who has lived and worked in Upper Austria for 15 years, wanted to know where her climate bonus is.
Picking up the glove without success
It was a search without success: “I never got through to the hotline. Then I called the Linz-Land district authority, they put me through to Vienna and after 35 minutes I was put on hold at the Ministry of Climate Protection.”
Nationally paid 8,683,856 times
The 32-year-old does not accept that there is a payment arrears – currently 8,683,856 bonuses have been transferred nationwide – and that non-Austrians can count on the money next February: “My twelve-year-old daughter is also a German citizen, but already received the bonus.”
