Once too many times in a row, a local wanted to climb the Galugg via ferrata in Zams on Sunday. The mountain rescue team had to get the exhausted man out of sight.
The cases of overestimation in climbing via ferratas did not stop in November either. This case, which called the emergency services late Sunday afternoon, belongs to a very special category.
A local got stuck on the via ferrata of Galugg (difficulty B and C – moderate hard and hard respectively) behind Zams hospital. According to the Tyrol control center, the man was so exhausted that he had to make an emergency call.
I hit the wall several times that day
It turned out that the day before, the athlete had climbed the very short via ferrata several times, with a height difference of about 80 meters and a route length of 150 meters. In the end, he probably overestimated his condition and overtaxed himself.
Landeck’s mountain rescue service was eventually able to rescue the athlete unharmed.
