A 46-year-old man from Styria has drowned in a marina in Poreč, Croatia. The man may have fallen into the water on Tuesday night, rescue attempts came too late. Police are now investigating the background.
As the Croatian daily “Vecernji list” reports, the man crashed into the marina of a hotel in the popular holiday resort of Poreč on Tuesday evening. The police were called just after 1 a.m. Rescuers tried to resuscitate the man – without success.
According to the newspaper, the Austrian’s body is now being examined by forensic medicine. The Croatian police are investigating how the death drama came about.
The foreign ministry confirmed on a “Krone” request that the 46-year-old was a man who had last lived in Styria. Out of respect for the next of kin, no further information was given.
