After the fatal skiing accident on Sunday afternoon on the Kaunertaler Gletscher in Tyrol, the police are now urgently looking for witnesses. A 24-year-old German collided with his head against a stone after a fall and succumbed to his serious injuries.
The terrible accident happened around 2 p.m. The 24-year-old German fell for a previously unknown cause, went over the edge of the track and, according to the current state of the investigation, hit his head against a stone with full force.
All help came too late for skiers
“A next skier eventually saw the man lying lifeless next to the slope and immediately set the rescue chain in motion,” the police said. Unfortunately, any help came too late for the 24-year-old. “The emergency doctor of the rescue helicopter was only able to determine the death of the victim,” the researchers said. The young man’s body was flown into the valley by a police helicopter.
Who saw the accident?
It is still unclear exactly how the devastating accident could have happened. The management now hopes that possible eyewitnesses can provide clarity.
