A 24-year-old driver had a serious accident in Bregenz on Tuesday. The woman put the car in the wrong gear when parking and ended up rolling a few feet up an embankment before crashing into the wall of an elementary school.
The 24-year-old parked her car at Römerstrasse at 2:45 p.m. Wanting to change the park position again, she engaged reverse gear and drove off. However, the woman may have accidentally engaged first gear because the car drove forward instead of backwards and rolled off a 2.5 meter high embankment.
The car drove up the sidewalk and then crashed head-on into the wall of an elementary school.
Alcohol test was negative
The 24-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Bregenz State Hospital. The car suffered significant property damage and a wooden fence was damaged. A breathalyzer test from the driver was negative.
