Deadly incident after police training Tuesday in Innsbruck: When an officer wanted to check the functionality of his holster, a shot was suddenly fired from the service weapon. The 25-year-old suffered serious injuries to his thigh.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., the 25-year-old police officer performed a functional check of his holster after completing operational training in the Pradl district of Innsbruck, inadvertently releasing a shot from his service pistol. “The projectile went through the holster and hit the police officer in the right thigh. The officer sustained a serious but non-life-threatening injury,” the director said on Wednesday.
With rescue to the clinic
The police officers present immediately gave first aid. After the emergency room by the alarmed emergency room doctor, the officer was taken to the Innsbruck clinic with the rescue. Further investigations into the exact course of the accident are currently still in progress.
