Due to a driver’s microsleep, a frontal accident happened in the Tyrolean Ötztal on Sunday: a pregnant German was among the occupants. Like her seriously injured husband, she was taken to hospital.
On Sunday around 3 p.m., a Dutch woman (49) drove her VW bus out of the valley on Ötztalstraße in the Längenfeld district. Her 51-year-old husband was in the front passenger seat and their daughter in the back seat. At the same time, a 28-year-old German man drove his car into the valley with his pregnant 28-year-old wife in the passenger seat.
Too far to the left
In the center of the village, the Dutch woman entered the oncoming lane due to microsleep and collided with the German’s car. The Dutch woman was seriously injured and was taken to Zams hospital with the rescue. The German suffered serious injuries and, like his pregnant wife (for medical clarification), was flown by helicopter to the hospital in Zams. The husband and daughter of the Dutch woman were unharmed. Both vehicles were badly damaged.
