In the summer of 2021, a 54-year-old woman from Klagenfurt started a drug ring to fund her own drug use. She also used her then 17-year-old son for this.
“The woman worked as an organizer, courier and bunker keeper of illegal drugs,” a police officer explains. “Her son and an 18-year-old friend then sold the cannabis to various end users.” In 2022 alone, the woman had bought almost four and a half kilos of herbal cannabis for almost 35,000 euros from a trader in mid-September, who has since been arrested herself.
“The two young men were mainly active in Klagenfurt, where they sold almost two kilos with a street value of about 19,000 euros,” the police said. “Unfortunately, the buyers were minors, some of whom were as young as 14 years old.”
The delivery of the drugs to the teens was arranged solely through the social media app Snapchat. When searching the car and apartment of the 54-year-old from Klagenfurt, the police found cannabis worth 1100 euros, 735 euros in cash, several mobile phones and some narcotics.
