Gipuzkoa’s deputy general has explained that they have already earmarked an item in next year’s budgets to maintain the discount on public transport.

For the possible departure of Orona and Ulma from the Mondragón Corporation, Markel Olano, has emphasized the importance of the cooperative model in Gipuzkoa. In this sense, he confirmed that he would like to see “a climate of cooperation” imposed on the cooperatives, although he indicated that “it should be voluntary and not compulsory”. Assuming that each company has to make its own decisions, cooperation between different companies is, according to him, much needed. In this regard, he concluded that “despite the decisions of some companies, the Mondragón group has a great future”.
In an interview for Euskadi Irratia’s “Faktoria” program, the deputy general of Gipuzkoa explained that they have already set aside a post in next year’s budgets to discount on public transport.
On the 40th anniversary of the entry into force of the basic law for the normalization of the use of the Basque language, the general deputy of Gipuzkoa indicated that the public administration should take new steps together with society to achieve linguistic equality in Euskal Herria. According to him, evolution should be gradual, but without interruptions. “The public administration must play an active role in the process of reviving the Basque language,” he added.
