A curious accident took place on the state bridge in Salzburg on Tuesday afternoon. A couple cycled together on the Rudolfskai and fell. The man was very drunk.
Shortly after 4 p.m., the couple rode out of town on the Rudolfskai cycle path near the Staatsbrücke. The 49-year-old woman steered her e-bike right next to her 51-year-old husband, who was on a mountain bike. For reasons unknown, the wheels then collided sideways and the steering ends became stuck. Then both fell.
The man was then taken to UKH Salzburg with undetermined injuries, and an alcohol test showed him 1.2 promille. The woman decided not to go to the hospital, her alcohol test was negative. Both parties involved in the accident were not wearing helmets.
