Serious accident Friday morning in Vienna’s Simmering district: a delivery van and a tram collided, the small truck was pressed against a traffic light pole. The driver was injured.
According to the fire service, the accident happened around 6:40 a.m. on Simmeringer Hauptstraße. During the collision, the small truck was pushed against a signal system, causing the vehicle to flip over like a straw.
With a ladder from a car wreck
“When the alerted emergency services of the professional fire brigade arrived on site, the vehicle driver was helped out of the vehicle with the help of a ladder,” the Viennese professional fire brigade reports via a broadcast.
The driver was injured in the accident and was taken to hospital after first aid. The wreckage was removed and the operation ended around 8:30 am.
