Curious case in Graz – disrupts neighbours’ view: PV system rejected

Date:

Curious: a Grazer didn’t get a nod for his planned PV system because of the UNESCO-protected roof landscape – the view from an adjacent courtyard would be obscured. The criticism is now getting louder and politicians are also reacting.

Josefigasse 5-7, Graz: “In its simple appearance, the building has no significant architectural accents and its structural features are not important to the cityscape,” says a sober statement from the Graz Old Town Expert Commission. Those who know the house in the heart of the Lend district can only confirm this finding.

The residents of the building were all the more surprised when their application for the construction of a photovoltaic system was rejected on the next page.
