After returning from Kiev, Polish President Andrzej Duda accused Russia of waging “total war” in Ukraine. He will never forget the impressions of Borodjanka, who was destroyed by airstrikes and missiles, Duda said Thursday in Przemysl in southern Poland.
He hopes that his joint visit with the presidents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to the Ukrainian head of state Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be a “visible sign of support for the defenders of Ukraine”. He traveled to Kiev on Tuesday evening with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, Latvian President Egils Levits and Estonian President Alar Karis.
Originally, Duda had suggested that the German Federal President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, also join the trip. There were signals from Kiev that Steinmeier was not welcome there.
