Relying on the navigation system – crazy: cyclist “blows” on the Autobahn in Tirol

Date:

Some car and truck drivers rubbed their eyes: On Wednesday, a food supplier quietly drove his e-bike onto the highway near Innsbruck-Ost and “bursted” through the Amras tunnel at more than 20 km/h. The police were able to stop the pedal knight. A video of the “crazy ride” went viral.

“I thought I was in the wrong movie”, Florian S. was completely beside himself. The truck driver from Reith im Alpbachtal noticed the cyclist on Wednesday shortly after 1.30 pm at one of the gas stations near the DEZ shopping center. “But there was absolutely no response to the honking,” the 26-year-old tells the “Krone”.

“Sometimes driving at 25 km/h”
Completely carefree, the man, whose website promises to do groceries within ten minutes, cycled up the Inntalautobahn towards the Brenner Pass. “Sometimes he was driving at 25 km/h. I have no idea if he had to deliver a pizza in the Stubai Valley quickly,” jokes S., who videoed the e-bike driver’s daring journey between the truck and the car. The short clip spread like wildfire through the TikTok portal and various WhatsApp groups.

After the police were called, a patrol was able to stop the food supplier on the A12 after a few minutes. According to police spokesman Stefan Eder, the cyclist had blindly relied on his navigation system, which led him onto the highway. “An organ mandate has been imposed.”
