There is no sign of a contemplative Advent season in Kindberg in Upper Styria. Only recently there was a protest action in the community, FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl has announced a meeting this Friday. In the center of attention: the planned asylum facility in the former National Care Center. The anger of the population is mainly directed against ÖVP Interior Minister Gerhard Karner, who pressed the house on the “eye” of the city. “I’ve never had any contact with him,” says Red mayor Christian Sander, who is “very upset.”
