“There are vegetarian sausages with sauerkraut and potato pancakes, very uncomplicated. In addition, baked apples and lots of beer and wine.” Edith C. from Kirchberg-Thening is looking forward to a very special Christmas: For the eighth time she has invited strangers to her home via Facebook. Here she reveals how this came about and why she can only recommend this experience.
Christmas doesn’t have to be the same as always! This is proven by Edith C. from Kirchberg-Thening, who has been bringing lonely hearts together on Christmas Eve since 2014. “A dear friend was home alone for Christmas one day. He had just been divorced and was heartbroken,” recalls the 54-year-old.
She herself was married at the time and had planned a nice party with the immediate family. “Somehow it didn’t fit, otherwise I would have invited him. It made me so depressed that there are people who are all alone on Christmas. I could hardly think about it.”
