After returning, “Dealer of Death” joins the party near the Kremlin

Date:

Viktor Bout, also known as the “Merchant of Death”, says he is a proud Russian. It is therefore not surprising that after his release from the US in Russia, the 55-year-old joined a party close to the Kremlin – the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR). The Russian arms dealer received his membership card on Monday.

Possibly Bout aspires to a political career after his release from the United States. He joined the Russian Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR). Despite its name, the party is not considered liberal or democratic, but since its formation in 1991 has represented views ranging from the ultra-nationalist to the far-right. Among other things, she openly advertises invasions, reports n-tv.

“Welcome him warmly to the best party”
Bout received his membership card from party leader Leonid Slutsky. “I would like to thank Viktor for his decision and warmly welcome him to the best party in today’s Russia,” the prominent Russian foreign politician said in his welcome speech, according to Russia’s state news agency TASS.

The LDPR was founded in 1991 by the communist and anti-Semite Vladimir Zhirinovsky. These parties sit in the Russian parliament but cooperate with the Kremlin and are usually loyal to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Proud” of its president Vladimir Putin
The 55-year-old arms dealer was traded for Brittney Griner last Thursday. Shortly after his release from US custody, he embarked on a media tour. There he spoke of his “pride” of President Putin.

He also expressed his support for the Russian attack on Ukraine. “If I had the opportunity and the necessary skills, I would go (to the front) as a volunteer,” the 55-year-old told Russian state broadcaster RT on Sunday. He “cannot understand” why Moscow’s massive offensive in the neighboring country in 2014 did not take place.
