What an insane move! A 55-year-old Styrian woman was attacked and tied up by four strangers in her own home on Tuesday. The perpetrators were out for their safety…
At around 7:45 p.m., the previously unknown men broke into the family home on a side street in Stattegg, north of Graz. The 55-year-old resident was alone in the house when the perpetrators overpowered her and tied her to an armchair with cable ties and adhesive tape. The perpetrators then threatened the 55-year-old and repeatedly demanded that the code of the safe in the home be handed over. However, because of the nervousness and fright, the woman could not name it.
Safe ripped out of holder
The perpetrators eventually succeeded in using force and an angle grinder to remove the safe from its anchorage. Since the violent opening of the approximately 300-kilogram safe failed, the perpetrators transported it, together with the jewels and the money inside, to the getaway vehicle – a white pick-up. The perpetrators then searched the entire house for valuables to escape after about an hour and a half in the van heading south or through the center of Stattegg.
Victims in shock, perpetrators on the run
After the perpetrators fled, the 55-year-old was able to free herself from her handcuffs and flee to her neighbors. There she informed the police. The woman was unharmed, but suffered severe shock.
Information requested from the LKA on 059133/60-3333.
According to current knowledge, it should be four male perpetrators, masked with balaclavas. They were dressed in black or sweatpants and spoke German with an Albanian accent. Two of the perpetrators were about 1.85 meters tall, one had a somewhat taller build and the second had a thin build.
