People are mourning the death of Top Gun pilot and captain Fabio Antonio Altruda, who crashed over Sicily in mysterious circumstances on Tuesday night. The well-trained 33-year-old had exactly seven seconds before he died. There are now three possible causes for the accident.
Altruda had just returned from Poland a few weeks ago. The call came when a Ukrainian missile accidentally landed on Polish territory (and therefore NATO territory). The best would go there to guard the skies, including Altruda. It is therefore still inexplicable how the crash could have happened during a simple training flight. Researchers now have three clues.
