A month after their last official commitment, PSG returned to the dynamics of the competition. Christophe Galtier’s team faced their neighbours, Paris FC, in a friendly behind closed doors played at the Camp des Loges. The French champions won 2-1, with a goal from Mukiele and another from Gharbi, in a match where two half-hour periods were played, ending with an own goal from El Hannach.
After a week of training without the internationals who went to the World Cup, Christophe Galtier lined up eleven events but in which up to four Spaniards participated: Sergio Rico, Sergio Ramos, Juan Bernat and Fabián Ruiz. Also in the headlines was Verratti, who did not participate in Qatar after his team’s failure, dropping out early in the qualifying phase. The Italian was replaced at halftime by Zaïre-Emery.
Christophe Galtier took advantage of the last quarter of an hour to make rounds and give minutes to some of the promising youngsters from PSG. Ayman Kari, Younes El Hannach, Vimoj Muntu Wa Mungu, all 18 years old, and Ethan Mbappé, Kylian’s brother, who at 15 years old has already succeeded in the Youth League with the subsidiary. In extra time, El Hannach scored an own goal, but PSG came back to win after a long downtime.
