A ski trip from a Slovenian family to Nassfeld in Carinthia ended on Sunday for a little girl (5) in hospital.
The family was on the Madritschbahn and sat next to each other on the 6-seater chairlift. “At the last lift support, a sign was misinterpreted and the safety bar opened too early,” the police said.
Fallen 15 meters
“That’s why the 5-year-old girl slipped off the chair.” Her grandfather only managed to hold the girl for a short time. The girl fell from a height of nearly eight meters onto the ski slope about 15 meters before the mountain station, sustaining injuries of undetermined extent. She flew to the BKH Lienz with the rescue helicopter ARA-3.
